YES REALLY!

So I made a post on Facebook today about how I wanted to give my 18 year old away because she is being lazy, whine and a brat. The comments on the page were suggestions. Then my cousin posted: "REALLY CRYSTAL!?!?!" Now I must say this pissed me off. I just wrote back REALLY ***** (name withheld to protect the stupid) What I really wanted to right was:

Really *****. I don't want her to end up like you. I don't want her to be a sponge on the world. I don't want her to take from people and never give anything to society. I want her to see that she is an adult now and everyone isn't going to do everything for her. I want her to stop using what happened to her as a crutch like your stupid @ss does and be something in this world. I want her to stop living in a world of make believe and understand that she needs to make real choices. I don't want her to be anything like you. A DRUNK AND A DRUG ADDICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't want her to have children and then walk away from them because being a drunk and a drug addict is more important. I want her to be the best that she can be. That I know she can be. So yes REALLY!!!!!

That is what I wanted to write. But I didn't. Because I don't want to hurt my family or start a fight with her online.

Making a Change

As you can see the name on this blog has changed. I think I will use this blog to write down some of the stuff I wish I had said at points in my life. Could be fun. It could also drive some people mad. LOL.

Christmas Movies

My favorite part of the holiday season is watching Christmas movies. There are a few that I try to watch at least 1 time during the season. Here is my list. :-D

#1

I love this movie. It is the story of Emmet and his mother. They are poor otters that are just trying to make it day by day. Mother washes clothes and Emmet works odd jobs. During the holiday season this year the town has a Christmas pageant with a prize of $50.00. Emmet and his mother enter without the other one knowing it. They both hope to win and give the other a present for the holiday. Emmet puts a hole in his mother's wash tub to do it and his mother hacks Emmet's tools to make a dress for the pageant. The story tells about how family needs one another and that even when you think you lost, you have actually one.

My brother and I used to watch this movie every Christmas. I own it on VHS and DVD. I make sure to watch it every year and remember my brother and I together. :-D

#2.

This is my favorite Muppet movie. It is the retelling of Charles Dickson's Christmas Carol. I just love this movie. I think Michael Caine does an amazing job as Mr. Scrooge. If you watch this movie make sure you get the extended movie with the song sung by Scrooge's true love. It is an amazing song and to many times they leave it off of the TV when it is aired.
I do have to say the best part of this movie is...

He just makes me happy to watch the movie. :-D

#3.

I am a huge Danny Kaye fan and this is one of my favorites with him. The story is:
After leaving the Army after W.W.II, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis team up to become a top song-and-dance act. Davis plays matchmaker and introduces Wallace to a pair of beautiful sisters (Betty and Judy) who also have a song-and-dance act. When Betty and Judy travel to a Vermont lodge to perform a Christmas show, Wallace and Davis follow, only to find their former commander, General Waverly, is the lodge owner. A series of romantic mix-ups ensue as the performers try to help the General.

My mom got me into this movie one year and I have watched it ever since. I just love the music and every thing about it. Its a classic so if you get a chance check it out.

#4.

I really shouldn't have to explain this one. If you haven't seen it then you should smack yourself and go watch it now. This is an amazing Dr. Seuss book and movie. This movie is another I watched with my brother. I made sure it was passed on to my children. The live action is really good, but this classic is still the best.

#5.

Another blast from the past, but is still timeless. I love the story behind this movie. Charlie Brown cartoons are great and I just love this one. The movie is about the Peanuts putting on a Christmas pageant and Charlie Brown getting a tree that no one likes. I think it is wonderful to watch.

#6.

I only just started watching this one. My mom doesn't like it, but I think it is great. It really does teach you that there is a reason you are here. I think it is really a nice classic movie to watch. No matter what my mom says. LOL. The movie is about George Bailey and his life. It starts out with him saving his brother and goes from there. It is a timeless tale and shows that when you are down and out you really aren't. If you are a good person that others are good to you.

#7.

A Christmas classic for all times. All Raphy wants is a Red Rider BB Gun for Christmas. The whole movie is his adventures up till Christmas day. I love this movie. The main character Ralphy is such a sweetheart. I love this timeless tale. Luckily I get to watch it every year because TNT plays it all day Christmas.

#8.

This is one version of who Santa Clause is how he came to be. I think it is a cute little way of telling kids who Santa was and gives one version of the legend for Kris Kringle. I love the older Christmas children movies like this. This one and this one...

#9.

are my all time favorites. This one is about how Santa thinks the children have lost the meaning of Christmas and doesn't care anymore. So he decides to take the time off and the children now have to make Santa understand that they do believe in something more than themselves. Rudolph is good, but I really like these two the best.

#10.

This is the story of a boy that doesn't believe in Santa anymore. One night he takes a magical train ride and find out the true spirit of Christmas. Not sure if I will be watching this one this year without crying. I watched this movie because of my sister/soulmate Nicolette. Her boys and her used to watch it every year. With this being the 1 year mark of her untimely death I don't think I can watch it without thinking of her and her boys.

#11.

I love Mr. Magoo and this is one of my favorites. The music is wonderful to listen to and once again the story is one to think about.

#12.

Another version of a classic tale, but still one to watch again and again. I just love Scrooge McDuck in this movie. Plus Goofy as Marley cracks me up. LOL.

#13.

Doesn't have to be Christmas for me to watch this movie, but we do watch it during the season. :-D The movie is about Jack the Pumpkin King and how he feels like something is missing. That is until he discovers Christmas Town and wants it for his own. The whole family loves this movie. It has helped all 3 of my boys fall asleep at night when they have been having trouble sleeping. I love the story and how much Sally loves Jack. I wish they would make another one of this one. :-D

#14.

This is a cute little cartoon and I watch it every time it comes on. The story is about a little mouse that writes a letter to Santa telling him that his town didn't believe in Santa anymore. So Santa returns all the letters the children wrote. The rest of the story is the town trying to show Santa that they do believe in him. It is a wonderful movie.

#15.

This is my newest movie. I have watched it at least 4 times since we got it. Jim Carrey did an awesome job in this movie and really captured the true Charles Dickson's story. At times the movie is creepy and def not for kids, but over all it is wonderfully done and has now become a movie we will watch over and over again at our house.

So that is my movie list. :-D

This have been nuts

So I was supposed to be updating at least every other day, but things got a little nuts around here. My mom came to visit on 9/29 and I got busy spending time with her. Then on 10/16 she ended up in the ICU with pneumonia and an infection in her blood. She is still in the ICU because they can't get her blood pressure stable. Every time she goes to sleep her blood pressure drops. Hopefully soon she will be able to get out of ICU and moved to her own room.

Not much else is going on here. Took the teens to Six Flags over Texas for Fright Feast and it completely sucked. Magic Mountain is way better. They only had a few cool roller coasters and nothing was really going on for Fright Feast. Next time we are going to take the little ones and go. Since there seems to be more for them to do there.

Can't Go Home Again

Not sure how true this statement is, but today I found out that you can't reconnect with some old friends again. I wrote a letter to a friend that I hadn't talked to in almost 10 years. She told me 10 years ago that we couldn't be friends anymore because the person she was with didn't like me. I respected her wishes and told her I understood.

Well my sister/soulmate passed away in December 2009 and I thought about how much I missed my friend and how life can be taken away so quickly from you. So I decided to reconnect with her. I found her ex boyfriend and found out how much her life had changed since the last time I had talked to her. So I thought maybe I would write her a letter and let her know I was thinking of her and I hope she was doing well. I wrote one letter and found out afterwards that she had moved. So I rewrote the letter again and sent it to her new address. I waited to see if I would get a letter back or a phone call. Nothing for 2 weeks.

Today I found out from her ex that she received both my letters. She will not be contacting me. She doesn't want to open back up the part of her life that I was in. I am sad to hear this, but I understand. Well I understand, but I don't understand. I understand she doesn't want to go backwards, but  I mean the time of her life I was in was a good time as far as I can remember. We were there for one another through some rough stuff and good stuff. I guess she must have seen it another way.

I wish her well. I hope that her life gets in order and that things work out for her and her kids.  I hope she gets away from the troubles she has been having and that she sees that there is a better way to enjoy life. I miss her everyday, but at least I know she is still out there.

9-11-2001

So everyone says "Never Forget 9/11" I couldn't forget that day if I wanted. 9/11 is one memory I can remember pretty well.

I got up for work that morning. I was living in Vegas and I worked for a timeshare company in the collections department. I was their admin. I walked into the living room of the 4 bedroom house I rented with my mom and step- dad. My grandparents were in town visiting from Parhump, NV. Everyone, but my 2 kids, were in the living room glued to the television. My grandmother was crying and my grandfather was sitting next to her holding her hand. On my step-dad's big screen television was the North Tower of the WTC on fire. I wasn't in shock as I much as I just thought it was a bad flight and wasn't a terrorist act. That it was just a simple plane crash. Before our eyes we watched the second plane crash into the South Tower of the WTC. We all gasped and stared in shock at the screen.

I had been reading the series "Left Behind" and I freaked. I mean whose first thought would have been terrorists  acts. I thought the rapture had come and that was the excuse for the planes crashing into the buildings. I ran to check and see that my kids were in bed. I know looking back now that it was stupid, but hey I was into book 5 of that series and it just made sense to me at the time.

I went back into the living room and we watched the plane crash over and over again. (The news just kept showing it and we couldn't take our eyes off of it.) The news broke away and told us about the Pentagon being attacked. Then in shock we watched the WTC tower fall. We heard about the crash of Flight 93 and hoped that there wouldn't be anymore that day.

I rode to work with my step-dad barely talking. I was in such shock. My boss had me call everyone and tell them not to come into work. I had a lunch date that day so I had my step-dad stop by my dates work so that I could tell him I wasn't at work for that day and I had to cancel. He came by my house after work and we all watched on the television and talked about what we saw.

I cried that night when I went to bed. I just couldn't believe what I had saw. I was scared for my children in a world like this. All I could think was would there be more attacks. Were my family and friends going to be safe?

9/11 changed America because it wasn't an attack on the military, but an attack on American people. People just going about their everyday lives and they were killed by an act of terrorism. An act by an extreme religious group. Everything in the United States changed. People didn't feel safe anymore. I don't know how safe the United States feels now. I think terrorism and terrorist will always worry the people of the United States.

I think everyone in the whole world was effected by 9/11. Other countries saw that America could be attacked and if they could other countries could be too. Other countries worried about the fact that America was attacked and they could be next.

The world is a scary place. Thanks to Al-Qaeda America learned that they aren't as safe as they thought they were.

Crazy Week

This week as been crazy. All 4 of the oldest kids now go to school. I am working hard on my school work. Macroeconomics is driving me crazy. I just can't get the hang of it. I hate it so much. I really need to buckle down and get better grades on my next 3 test. The highest I have got is a 70 and that was on one test. Ugg.

Tomorrow we are doing some heavy house cleaning. On Tuesday we are getting a kitten if all goes well. We are going to name him Hoyt after the True Blood TV character. We have a dog named Tara after True Blood TV show so we thought we would stay with the theme.

The thing that sucks this week is we have to call the vet on our dog Popcorn to have him looked at. He is in his 20's and it is finally starting to show. He is going deaf, loosing hearing, loosing sense of smell and starting to get aggressive. We don't want him to have to suffer so we are going to talk to the vet and see if it is time to put him down. I really don't want to if that is what it comes down to, but I don't want him to be in pain either. We have had him since my oldest was 6 and she is now 16 almost 17 years old. When we got him they told us he was 12 or 13 years old. It is really going to be hard.

Well I better get some sleep. I have alot to do tomorrow because starting Tuesday we are buckling down on school stuff.
